The land

Twenty-four acres of your own, bordered by hundreds more with nobody on them.

Trails wind through boulder formations and past a spring-fed pond with a bamboo grove at its edge. In spring, morels surface along the hillside. Year-round, expect company — deer, wild turkey, whatever else is moving through the trees that morning. At night, the sky does something most of our guests haven't seen in years.

Queen beds and a shared spa-style bath. Comfortable enough that guests stop being polite about the master.

“We stayed here over Easter weekend while visiting family at Ohio University, and this place completely exceeded our expectations. From the moment we walked in, it felt like home. Not just clean and comfortable — but cozy, welcoming, and the kind of place you instantly relax in. The large dining table was a highlight — we ended every night playing games, laughing, and just enjoying being together.”

— Jennifer C., April 2026

“Our teenager staked out the loft reading nook, where many rounds of Uno were waged beneath the soft glow of the lamp light. At night, I curled up by the fire ring with a ghosty thriller. The woods whisper just enough to make your imagination dance. This place is magic — secluded yet convenient, beautiful yet deeply livable.”

— Erin S., May 2025

“Perfect space for celebrating — well equipped kitchen, open design, dining set up, room to dance, and what a cool loft, a wonderful surprise! The property views, outdoor space and fire pit were so enjoyable. Who could ask for more? We will be back!”

— Angie G., OU graduation weekend, May 2025

“The grounds and the cabin itself are wonderful! Great for a group of alumni wanting to visit campus but have a quiet retreat as well. Will definitely stay again!”

— Carla S., May 2026

“Feels remote but is quite close to town and the university. Very nice and private property. Lots of nice extras provided such as bug spray and toiletries. Excellent communication with the hosts. Comfortable beds and pillows and sofas. I would recommend.”

— Jennie C., June 2026

“Chase is incredibly accommodating and great with communication. The cabin is perfect for families or gatherings of friends. Not too far from Athens, yet feels so private. It is awesome to have such a nice place to stay in Athens. We will most definitely be back!”

— Sara H., February 2026

“This is easily the best travel accommodation I could recommend to anyone planning a trip to Athens. It has the hocking hills feel, but you’re only 10 minutes from anything you need in Athens. The reading loft was a wonderful addition to the house, and everything was perfect during our stay. We enjoyed the bonfire, the stars, and gorgeous blooming environment around the house.”

— Sean, April 2026

“The house was amazing but the surroundings were even better. It is ‘way back there’ as we say in Appalachia. There is a pond, firepit, trails and lots of sitting around places. The kids loved the loft. We stay in a large number of AirBNB’s and this property made our ‘do again’ list.”

— Hank, Narrows VA, July 2026

“Art Park was exactly what we needed for a long weekend visiting kids at OU. It’s conveniently close to campus yet far enough removed we could relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings at the home. They thought of just about everything to make us feel at home, from the well appointed kitchen, bathrooms stocked with TP, shampoo/conditioner, and even bug spray for evening bonfires.”

— Sheri, Medina OH, September 2025

“We absolutely loved the place and Cabin. If I could, I would give 6 stars. The location is amazing and William and his wife have made a wonderful work in restoring the place. I certainly recommend for anyone who goes to Athens.”
